I work predominately in textiles and love to dye, print and embellish. I create a variety of things:

Monica Blackwood

Monica Blackwood

Hi, I’m Monica Blackwood. I studied fashion design and fashion promotion and communication but love all forms of art and creativity. I believe in supporting local art and design especially when it is in a social context helping others find their creative potential. I started experimenting with jewellery in 2020 during lockdown, using wool and porcelain and loved the creativity of it all. I also do some knitting, creating scarves and unique hats! I also do portraits and figurative art as I love the stories written in the human face. I hope to keep evolving in my jewellery making by using locally sourced materials and to further work in the social/community sector, helping others achieve their creative dreams.
